Staying at Montcalm Brewery was an enjoyable experience overall, with the charm of a historic building paired with comfortable amenities. The staff were really good and attentive, however, the dated windows posed some issues with temperature and noise insulation. My room was well-equipped, but a few minor maintenance hiccups arose that needed attention. Still, I'd gladly return for the warm atmosphere and central location.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious and equipped with modern amenities like a flat-screen TV and a mini bar. However, the windows let in drafts and noise from outside, which was a bit bothersome, especially during the snowstorm. A couple of minor repairs like a blocked sink were addressed quickly, but for the price, I expected a bit more comfort without these issues.
Service
10.0
The service was commendable, with friendly and attentive staff like Alexandru and Vlad making my stay particularly nice. They went out of their way to assist with requests and provide recommendations, which truly enhanced my experience.
Location
9.0
The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of London, close to attractions like the Barbican Center. It made it convenient to explore the city and find some cute local coffee shops. Just keep in mind that navigating the winding paths of this historic building can be a bit tricky!
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed breakfast at The Jugged Hare, with a good selection that included a hearty full English. The atmosphere was pleasant, but at £25 per person, it felt a touch on the pricey side. Still, the food quality was impressive and worth the visit.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities like the gym and room service were standard for a luxury hotel. I appreciated the fast and reliable Wi-Fi, which is essential for any business stay. However, I did notice the need for updates in certain areas, especially concerning some older furnishings.

I had a wonderful stay at Montcalm Brewery, where the staff truly made the experience special. The personalized touches for our wedding anniversary were good, including a handwritten note and chocolates. However, I found the breakfast lacking, as it didn’t meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel. Overall, the charm of the hotel and its fantastic service made up for these shortcomings.

Rooms
8.0
My room was quiet and clean, though the bed was softer than I’d prefer. The bathroom had a shower in the bath which may not suit taller guests. Still, I found the ambiance appealing and the room well-kept.
Service
9.0
The service from the staff was really good. I was impressed by their warm welcome, and they went out of their way to make me feel celebrated during my special occasion. Alice was particularly friendly and made a lasting impression.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, being just a short walk from major attractions like St Paul's Cathedral. I appreciated being in a less touristy area, which offered a more authentic London experience.
Dining
5.0
Though I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Jugged Hare pub, I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The buffet options were below standard, making it a meal to skip next time.
Facilities
6.0
Overall, the facilities were adequate, but I encountered issues like a malfunctioning phone in the room and a shower that might not accommodate taller guests comfortably. The hotel has potential, but improvements could be made in this area.

I had a pleasant stay at Montcalm Brewery, with a comfortable room and attentive staff. My only drawbacks were some issues during breakfast service and the restaurant being closed on my anniversary. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to explore London. 🌟

My stay at Montcalm Brewery was a fascinating experience. The warm welcome from Vikesh and his team truly set the tone. The deluxe suite was stunning, although I did notice some noise from outside. The breakfast was enjoyable but had a few hiccups, leaving me wishing for a bit more consistency.

5.2/10

I had a mixed experience at Montcalm Brewery. The location was fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel welcome right from the start. However, my room left much to be desired, with some dated decor and issues like a noisy air conditioning unit and poorly fitting windows that let in noise. For a supposed 5-star hotel, I felt a bit let down by the overall quality.

Rooms
5.0
The room had its charm but was marred by dated furniture and an air conditioning unit that kept turning on at night. It definitely impacted my comfort level during the stay.
Service
8.0
The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, eager to assist and make my stay enjoyable, which added a nice touch amid a few drawbacks.
Location
9.0
I loved the hotel's central spot in London, close to major attractions yet in a quieter area, making it convenient for my visit to the Barbican.
Dining
8.0
Dining at the Jugged Hare was good, with a great selection of dishes, which made for a pleasant experience after a long day.
Facilities
5.0
While the overall facilities were decent, I was disappointed that the mini-bar was empty and the bar was not available for late-night drinks.
